Education is fundamental to our enterprise. As an umbrella to our parent company VICSEG New Futures, we offer a range of training opportunities that aim to economically empower women in Melbourne. Our studio operates as a training space for our students. 

Accredited Training 

We offer MST31022 Certificate III in Apparel, Fashion and Textiles

If you are just starting out or looking to refresh your sewing skills, or learn advanced sewing techniques, then this qualification will suit you perfectly! You will learn about fabric identification, fabric cutting, pattern-making techniques, sewing techniques, professional finishing and alterations, all of which are important skills in this creative industry.

We run short courses and workshops from our Coburg studio. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Our professional trainers create unique and fun events centered on collaboration, sharing skills, and building connections.

Second Stitch is a social enterprise that operates as part of VICSEG New Futures.a registered charity that has supported migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in Victoria for over 40 years. 100% of proceeds from our shop and commercial services directly fund our training and employment programs.
